It is believed that God established government and bestows authority upon leaders. The message of grace in the gospel redirects man's inclination to dominate others towards submission to God. The ultimate authority in governance belongs solely to God. He has the freedom to govern the world according to His will. By acknowledging God as sovereign and free, man also finds freedom. The gospel provides a pathway for individuals to connect with God freely. It is unacceptable for man to try to take over God's authority. The gospel liberates man from destructive tendencies to seize power and harm others.
The root of humanity's problems lies in diverting attention from the fundamental principles established by God in this world and distorting the message of grace. Grace represents the divine promise of God to intervene justly in human affairs, particularly in punishing the wicked. It serves as a reminder that we are not divine beings and should not presume to act as such. The concept of cheap grace highlights the tendency of humans to diminish the significance of grace through arrogance. Instead, the focus should be on the wicked, as grace ultimately enables God to exact vengeance on evil. It prevents individuals from taking on the role of God as the ultimate judge. Grace acts as a channel through which God's retribution is carried out, ultimately destroying destruction itself. It is a powerful force that liberates us from our innate responses to the malevolent forces at play in the world. Through grace, we are granted the ability to receive and assess all things with the authority bestowed upon us by Christ. In essence, grace is our invaluable inheritance.
