When we utilize the term "application" to describe actions from the past, it offers a practical explanation. This is due to the fact that no one approaches application with flawless logic. It is challenging to apply a verse to a situation that one has not personally witnessed. By examining and applying this concept, it is evident that our perception of God involves a careful consideration of how we apply our logic to events, as it distinguishes our finite perspective from God's eternal existence. Therefore, we should approach our application with humility and acknowledge God's role in the outcome of events, whether they are perceived as positive or negative.

The logic displayed by the prophets in the Old Testament is quite fascinating. They engage in discussions about God's perspective on events, which ultimately makes us realize our insignificance. Unlike humans who often manipulate events for personal gain, God cannot be controlled in shaping events to suit our desires. We tend to employ logical arguments to present events in the most favorable light for ourselves, but the prophets argued in a way that emphasized God's detachment from the influences of secondary causes. They portrayed Him as the sole orchestrator of events, working towards the deliverance of His people. This line of reasoning instilled a sense of confidence in God, as His praise was seen as an assurance that He would act alone to rescue us. The prophets understood that without God's intervention, our situation would be extremely dire. Therefore, they encouraged us to firmly grasp onto our faith and trust in God's actions.
