It is wise to place our unwavering faith solely in God. We should refrain from placing our trust in earthly authorities or fellow humans, as it is God who governs the entirety of the earth and exercises dominion over every individual. No one is exempt from standing before God on equal grounds, as we all share the same human condition and vulnerability.
God is the ultimate creator of the world, both in its original form and in any recreations that may occur. Men are not essential for God to bring about the end of all things and to bring glory to Himself. The question at hand is whether men can act independently to do good. The Psalms indicate that God has the power to overturn the decisions made by men. God has intentionally limited the lifespan of man, not for the sake of maintaining peace, but to emphasize that His counsel is the only trustworthy source, as He has existed through all generations. Essentially, when a man dies, he is forgotten, including his actions. God distinguishes Himself from man through the language He uses and the wisdom He imparts. If salvation is truly found in God alone, then He is the only one who should be relied upon, not man.
The inherent untrustworthiness of mankind stems from the collective inclination of men to assert dominion over the world and its inhabitants. We tend to downplay our own transgressions while magnifying those of others, mistakenly believing that our opposition to fellow men can bring about meaningful change. Our predicament lies in our disbelief in our capacity to engage in actions that fall short of the divine standard, necessitating divine intervention to prevent the annihilation of humanity and the planet. Even after salvation, our behavior falls short of the level required to truly serve the greater good as envisioned by God and our fellow humans.
It is beyond our capability to access the thoughts of others, observe their existence throughout history, or truly comprehend their physical ailments. In reality, our understanding is severely restricted. Recognizing our inherent limitations, God, fully aware of our inability to grasp our own insignificance, has chosen to act independently before we do. Our awakening to this truth occurs when He continues to manifest goodness even in the midst of our own wrongdoing. The transformative impact of His intervention in our lives surpasses our visual and cognitive capacities. Therefore, we acknowledge that it is solely God who bestows honor upon our existence.
Our prayers in scripture are deliberate and articulate petitions that encourage and inspire God to bring about positive outcomes. We express our desires for justice and protection, and seek guidance in our speech and actions. As we deepen our understanding of scripture, we prioritize heavenly wisdom over worldly concerns, allowing our thoughts and words to align with eternal truths.
