Jesus is the purpose behind our existence. Following His commands is not arbitrary, but serves to bring Him glory. Our reluctance to obey may stem from our limited understanding, but His wisdom surpasses our own. Just as He instructed Hosea to marry a prostitute and allowed Paul to endure imprisonment for the sake of revealing His truth, He also guided Peter towards an unexpected end. Our inability to predict the future stems from our tendency to worry about the unknown, which is why He provides us with daily sustenance and advises us not to fret about the future. He comprehends the intricate details of the world, ensuring that every event in history serves a purpose. Without His omniscience, these events would lack meaning.
Our predicament lies in our lack of trust in Him as an everlasting Father, who generously provides for every living being under heaven. He explicitly states that He does not require our offerings, as He possesses an abundance of resources. Instead, He desires our heartfelt praise and for us to live in accordance with His will and perception. Our purpose here is to bring glory to Him. Although we may have legitimate desires for various things, it is essential to recognize that there are even higher aspirations that lead to greater outcomes. Consequently, we are constantly surrounded by eternal purposes and perspectives, surpassing the value of other worthwhile pursuits. There is a wellspring of spiritual nourishment available to us, but it is an inexhaustible feast, preventing us from ever feeling completely satisfied. This drives us to forsake our own desires in order to partake in Him. Our yearning for Him surpasses any earthly possession, as nothing in this world can truly fulfill our deepest longings except for being in His presence. And once we are with Him, we no longer desire anything on this earth.
