Revival encompasses various experiences. Some individuals may undergo a brief period of conviction and sorrow that deeply pierces their hearts, followed by a glorious encounter with God's favor and love. On the other hand, some experience such extreme conviction that they believe they will perish under its weight, only to find forgiveness and joy. Certain individuals become enraptured by wonder and praise, losing track of time. They witness the splendor of God and their thoughts wander towards eternal matters, resulting in a trance-like state. They are so overwhelmed with delight that they cannot contain themselves. This spiritual pleasure fuels a desire to pray and express their love for God, diminishing any urgency to engage in other activities. Revival, ultimately, is an inward transformation. I strongly believe that both personal and collective or national revival are possible. What brings about a unique period when it seems that God's presence is tangible, awakening individuals to their sins and the need to pursue Him? What motivates people to leave their homes and attend church? In studying historical revivals, it becomes clear that a few individuals were burdened with a deep desire to pray for revival. As they dedicated themselves to this cause, they personally experienced revival. Therefore, I contend that all revivals stem from a burdened commitment to pray for revival throughout one's lifetime. However, if we are not experiencing revival ourselves, we may not continue to pray for it while praying for the well-being of the church. Revival can be described as God manifesting Himself through the Holy Spirit, empowering and captivating people. It involves a fervent passion for the glory of God, leading to a sense of divine illumination as if God Himself were speaking in the room. During revival, individuals become acutely aware of their sins and seek someone to help them unburden themselves. They experience a great tension that generates anxiety about their sins and a strong desire to be free from guilt and sorrow. Through this intense struggle, they strive to find solace in Christ as the only solution to their profound anxiety. Revival directs us to seek God for who He truly is.
