The circumstances faced by the apostle were vastly different from our current church culture. The members of Corinth had experienced a baptism of the Holy Spirit, which included miraculous incidents and an intoxicating atmosphere. The church met daily for devotion to scripture and communion, displaying a unity beyond our own experiences. They fervently prayed and confessed their sins to one another, avoiding superficial worship. Prophetic utterances and a fervor for holiness were present, despite this being a generation that crucified Christ. The apostles preached the gospel with supernatural boldness, leading to a unity that captivated people and drew them away from worldly distractions. These individuals believed that they couldn't repent on their own, as the powerful message and visible deliverance from sin resonated deeply with large crowds. People were profoundly convicted, resulting in genuine repentance and unified rejoicing. Their joy was indescribable, and entire towns were united in this baptism of rejoicing within their community.

It was evident to them that God was miraculously growing and strengthening the church through the baptism of Christ with fire. The Holy Spirit was performing remarkable miracles among them. They were certain that the teachings of God had a profound impact on the work of the Holy Spirit. The apostles fearlessly proclaimed God's word, leading to immediate unity among the congregation, and the people left with a deep sense of God's presence, evident in those who were moved and responsive to the message. There were no formal invitations, only visible signs of the supernatural on each person's face. The people were filled with a supernatural joy that could not be explained by human means.

There was a collective determination that pervaded the group, as they faced daily challenges against those who sought to impose their beliefs upon them.
