The power of God operates within us and acts through us. If we were completely paralyzed, it would indicate that God has not granted us the ability to move. The reason why there is a distinction between man's capabilities and God's is that our abilities have no inherent cause, whereas God's abilities stem from Himself. If we were to compare these abilities, it would be like comparing the strength or weight that overcomes the opposing force. The important point is that equal weights do not explain the true nature of the effort, as it is the heavier weight pulling down the lighter side that truly displays the cause in the movement itself. This is why belief involves acknowledging our powerlessness as humans. By rejoicing in God's power, we recognize that we do not possess the ability to generate our own power. When we assess our own abilities, we attribute all the credit to God. This is the reality of our existence in relation to how we perceive ourselves as sinful beings before God. When we proclaim that God is perfect, we are stating that Christ, being sinless, is the only person deserving of that perfection. By acknowledging Christ's sinlessness, we are acknowledging our own corruption in every aspect. We are admitting that no goodness resides within us, so that we may understand in a connected manner that all goodness is produced through Christ's death, and in turn, comprehend our identity in Christ. This is the undeniable truth about the nature of goodness. To truly comprehend our own abilities and potential, we must embrace the paradox at hand. To fully understand ourselves, we must draw our energy from a genuine source. When we speak of a perspective on life that allows us to feel, perceive, and experience our capabilities, we are acknowledging our rational understanding of the origins of these experiences. In essence, if we are mistaken in our understanding of how we exist in this world, the wasted energy in this knowledge will dictate our performance. This is why God operates through us. Therefore, when the apostle spoke of desiring to know God's power, they meant that it would solely derive from God as the ultimate source. The apostle would perceive and encounter this power as a result of both a metaphysical bond and a physical empowerment. Furthermore, it was through the divine favor of God that he was able to partake in a continuous manifestation of God's power, leading him to acknowledge and embrace his own vulnerability.
