Passion is the result of external forces acting upon us, while action is the result of our own will. Although these concepts have distinct relationships, they can coexist within the same act of volition. Our will, however, cannot act upon itself. Just as we were brought into existence, our continued existence is sustained by our Creator. We are constantly influenced and shaped by external factors in order to maintain our existence. Yet, we also exist as individuals through the actions performed by our physical bodies. Therefore, we can assert that our actions and existence are influenced by external forces, whether they be desires or passions. We are considered sinners because every aspect of our being, both physically and spiritually, is corrupted. We carry within us a figurative "body of death" that acts as an agent within us. Therefore, we are inherently toxic prior to making any conscious decision to sin. Sin, in turn, influences and impacts us when we choose to partake in it. If we possess this innate passion from birth, we will continue to experience this toxic reality until our demise. This is the essence of our existence in relation to others and their choices. Furthermore, we may experience a sense of detachment as our spirits strive to transcend our physical bodies.
