The essence of life's reality is intricately tied to one's relationship with salvation. Prior to birth, individuals possess a profound familiarity with God. The determination of salvation lies within the timeless counsel of God. He perceives and intricately shapes our formation, establishing the eternal reality of our salvation. God possesses an intimate understanding of our paths, extending back to the depths of secrecy. Those who have received salvation return to this hidden realm upon being born again, acknowledged by God as His beloved children. This connection to the Father grants us confidence in our identity in Christ. Our past transgressions no longer define us, as exemplified by the apostle who once persecuted the church and declared, "I bear no guilt for the bloodshed of others." Essentially, it is within this concealed realm that our true identity resides. It is crucial for us to recognize the importance of maintaining our secure identity, despite our past life of wrongdoing and immorality. Initially, when we embraced Christianity, we felt a genuine liberation from the hold of sin and found immense joy in our newfound spiritual transformation and salvation. However, it was vital for us to grasp that this transformation was solely attributable to God. In those early stages, we constantly questioned and tested the authenticity of this profound change that originated from the depths of our hearts. We witnessed the undeniable power of the gospel and pondered whether this experience would diminish over time, potentially causing us to regress to our former state. Yet, each morning brought a renewed sense of hope and an entirely fresh encounter. We developed a profound attachment to the transformative work of the Holy Spirit during the process of regeneration. My brethren, the simplicity and purity of that experience is precisely what the apostle was cautioning us to safeguard! Why have you strayed so swiftly from the transformative work of the Holy Spirit?
