Once we experience the grace of God, we gain a profound understanding of the true essence of forgiveness. The infusion of grace into our corrupted beings is the life force that nourishes our spiritual well-being and brings us pleasure. While people may accusatorily proclaim, "You are guilty!", grace responds by questioning who can legitimately charge guilt upon us if Christ does not. In fact, those who exhibit a desire for wrongdoing towards a Christian provide evidence of their own legal conviction. Conversely, believers are called to cover and overlook the sins of others. There exists a clear distinction between the concept of legal conviction and the conviction of sin within a believer. In the case of an unbeliever, legal conviction implies a lack of an object of love and forgiveness, with their relationship primarily governed by adherence to the law rather than a connection to Christ. This state of legal conviction does not encompass any longing or desire for the transcendent love of God. To liberate ourselves from the confines of legal conviction and embrace the divine forgiveness, we are reliant upon the bestowal of grace. This grace must be poured into the dreadful state that the apostle refers to as death. In essence, the law alone is not sufficient. It is crucial to note that the Psalmist consistently portrays relationships within the church community as devoid of any elements of legal conviction.
