The root of our problem lies within ourselves. It is our thought patterns and inclination to believe in our own flaws and irrational desires that lead us to lose hope and become numb. We constantly swing between relying on our own abilities to achieve righteousness and feeling completely helpless, yearning for the presence of a higher power. This is because we tend to embrace idolatrous tendencies, fearful anxieties, self-centered ambitions, and a deceptive self-awareness that taints all our relationships. We are overly protective of ourselves, excessively self-conscious, and selfishly independent. In this state, we are susceptible to idol worship. We fear the very things we worship and crave, and we place our trust in fallible individuals. We live with a constant sense of insecurity stemming from our self-awareness, mistakenly thinking that this is a normal social identity that requires acceptance from others. Our existence as finite beings is granted to us by an eternal God. We are entirely reliant on God for our existence, both outside and within the confines of time. God planned our existence prior to our birth, and all things, including our purpose, are orchestrated by God in eternity. Our experiences in time are predetermined by God, who executes everything flawlessly. As creatures, we do not possess independent existence; rather, we are engulfed in the magnificent intentions of God. As believers, we have the privilege of experiencing the delight of God's glory. Our tendency to complicate matters arises from irrational thinking.
