The establishment of authority is predicated on the cultivation of interpersonal connections. Its development is contingent upon a shared understanding of fundamental principles. However, it is crucial to recognize that these elements serve as the bedrock of trust, rather than occupying a central position themselves. Consequently, a significant inquiry arises regarding the unification of individuals within the body of Christ: namely, how to effectively employ scriptural teachings. In my view, the authenticity of our consensus on doctrine is exemplified by the manner in which we apply these teachings.Within the Old Testament framework of the Shepherd teaching, a complex form of leadership emerges, providing insight into the scope of authority and the application of the second use of the law. In this particular context, Christ's role extends beyond mere oversight of a collective body, as He assumes the position of ruler over the entire earth. It is my belief that when we create a distinct separation between doctrine and practice, commonly referred to as "two line theology," we inadvertently diminish the grandeur and significance of Christ's rulership. Consequently, we must strive to uphold a higher standard in our understanding and implementation of Christ's authority within society. Both the old and new testament emphasize the role of Christ as the supreme leader of the church, possessing unparalleled authority. This is due to the fact that the essential effectiveness of the church's unity and operation transcends human endeavors. Consequently, our attempts to contribute to His triumph are entirely futile, rendering any efforts to manufacture this outcome short-sighted.The purpose of this effective emphasis is to divert our attention from our own significance and instead enable God to work. In simpler terms, the success of the community is a result of how effectively the gospel is put into practice, how frequently it is relied upon as the sole source of hope. Consequently, the ultimate goal of exalting Christ's reign over the world becomes the driving force behind the formation of a distinctive assembly of individuals endowed with spiritual gifts, all stemming from this particular focus.
