The covenant promise between God and David is abundantly evident. It is a testament to God's divine plan, conceived in eternity, to establish His authority over David's lineage and triumph over all adversaries, both internal and external. This covenant serves as an extension of God's earlier covenant with Abraham. David, as the revered King of Israel, faithfully served as God's steward over His people. However, God's foresight extended beyond David's time, as He intended to bring forth His Kingdom on earth through the lineage of David. Consequently, Christ emerged as the authoritative ruler over the house of Israel. Through the covenant language articulated by David, the fulfillment of Christ's earthly journey was predetermined, encompassing both blessings and curses.The language of the covenant in the Old Testament was not fully understood in its magnificent entirety until later revelations were made. It was presented within the framework of a devout focus on God, which allowed all of David's struggles to be channeled into the concept of redemption. There were hints of this magnificence in the covenant language, suggesting that the worship practices in the Old Testament extended far beyond the confines of the temple and had the potential to illuminate the entire world. When Christ came into existence, He embodied the glory of God, although it was concealed. However, through His obedience, He possessed absolute authority to bestow blessings or curses upon the house of Israel.The divine being who resides in the highest position of authority does not administer justice based solely on practical considerations. Rather, He conveys His intentions and desires through His compassionate condescension in the form of covenants. His manner of communication can be likened to that of a caring and nurturing father. Jesus, who represents the magnificence of God, solidified His unity within the Trinity by fulfilling His role as the eternal Son. In this regard, our existence in this world is intertwined with our unity with the Father through Jesus. Jesus himself proclaimed that observing Him is equivalent to observing the Father, meaning that just as Jesus actively participated in this world as a human being, our Father is also actively present in even the smallest aspects of our lives. Jesus arrived as the second David, embodying the glory of God and having dominion over all things. However, throughout eternity, as the eternal Son, all of time has revolved around Him, working for Him and in service to Him.
