One factor contributing to our tendency to prioritize the incorrect matters is our lack of understanding regarding the true essence of our perceived knowledge. We are aware of the principle instructing us to honor God and derive pleasure from our relationship with Him. Every individual possesses an inherent yearning for the divine, which explains our inclination to create idols. Within humanity lies a divine spark, which can lead some individuals astray. Consequently, certain objects or concepts may be beyond the capacity of certain individuals to appreciate or cherish. However, the limitations in our knowledge and abilities do not diminish our freedom to exercise personal choice. The concept that humans possess an inherent sense of restlessness until they establish a connection with their Creator originates from the inherent difficulty individuals encounter in independently encountering God. As a result, certain individuals may devote their entire lives to worshipping a deity that they have fashioned within their own minds. The capacity for an individual to derive satisfaction from a relationship with God only becomes evident when God unveils Himself to that person, as humans are naturally inclined towards that which they find attractive. If there is a misalignment between the inherent qualities of human beings and the qualities attributed to God, individuals will prioritize their personal moral well-being and fail to comprehend the spiritually advantageous option. This is because the essence of the cause is intertwined with the essence of the decision and, consequently, the essence of the outcomes. This is why the Old Testament distinguishes between the nation of Israel, who undergo circumcision, and the elect or the remnant. There is a fundamental disparity in the emotions experienced by each group, which determines what is feasible and what is unattainable. This differentiation is not a result of a conscious choice. The problem may lie in the fact that our churches are populated by individuals who are incapable of establishing a connection with God in this specific context.
