It may come as a surprise that I maintain the belief that humans possess the capacity to commit the most heinous sins at any given moment. This capability, though potentially stemming from a gradual decline in our enthusiasm, is inherently potent and has the potential to ensnare each and every one of us. Furthermore, the consequences of succumbing to sin can be profoundly impactful. Curiously, avoiding sin does not primarily hinge upon our own actions. Rather, the fundamental cause of sin lies outside of our efforts to evade it. These various possibilities and temptations, along with the perilous predicaments that arise from the depravity of our existence, ultimately rely upon the presence of grace. It is through the lens of grace that we either continue to dwell in sin or find deliverance from its clutches. Wherever grace is present, sin is ultimately vanquished.If one were to accept the notion that our moral righteousness is derived solely from our own inner selves, the struggle to overcome sin and our capacity to do so would be interpreted within a legal framework. It is not only addiction that contributes to the power of sin, but also the influence of the law. The reintroduction of the law rekindles sin and brings about spiritual death. The presence of the law amplifies our inclination towards sin. Our dilemma stems from our lack of comprehension of the deeper underlying issues within ourselves, beyond the realm of addiction or sin. We are inherently unaware of what was so apparent to us when we initially embraced the Christian faith.The origins of our profound understanding of the omnipotent nature of God can be traced to our deep recognition of the consequences of our rebellious tendencies and the inescapable hold of sin, for which no clear resolution seemed apparent. Our gratitude for the absolution we obtained allowed us to perceive the kindness bestowed upon us as a comprehensive cleansing process, facilitated by the immediate revitalization initiated by the Holy Spirit, as we moved from a state of wrongdoing to the splendor of spiritual regeneration.As individuals, we form a self-perception that includes not only the acquisition of new abilities, but also a sense of entitlement to them. Our primary challenge is not so much engaging in unlawful behavior due to our understanding of legal principles, but rather arises from the erroneous belief that we are deserving of this newfound authority. Furthermore, within the framework of secularism, there is a disregard for the principles of Justification by faith and the concept of definitive Sanctification, which impedes our capacity to wholeheartedly embrace the revitalized fervor of our initial conversion. Many individuals are drawn to the study and practice of law due to a misconception that moral righteousness can be achieved solely through virtuous behavior, while disregarding the significant influence of the law in relation to the crucifixion. However, by accepting the concept of Christ's redemptive actions on our behalf, we can develop a comprehensive understanding that empowers us to actively participate in worship and reverence associated with Christ's magnificence, thereby allowing us to live in a state of utmost commitment.
