The Psalmist posits that God, in His role as the creator, bestowed upon humanity His divine law. Adherence to this law, as suggested by the Psalmist, is anticipated to result in enduring blessings. It is contended that prior to the downfall of humanity, there existed a harmonious alignment between their desires, will, and speech. Consequently, upon completing the act of creation, God deemed it praiseworthy. Furthermore, God's decision to grant humanity dominion over creation is perceived as a means for Him to receive adoration and acknowledgment. In His design, God ensured that all elements of creation functioned seamlessly, each possessing its own unique characteristics. In accordance with the inherent will of the Almighty, it was the responsibility of mankind to assign names to different entities in a manner that was harmonious. The capacity of individuals to accurately label animals served as evidence of the benevolence of the Creator, as it showcased the flawless coordination between their desires, choices, and verbal communication. Through adhering to the inherent laws bestowed upon them, humans were able to exert control over the world they were placed in, aligning their actions with the goals established by the Creator. However, with the introduction of sin, humanity's capacity to accurately comprehend and apply God's law diminished. This limitation stemmed not only from a willingness to disobey God's teachings, but also from a significant decline in cognitive faculties. It is essential to recognize that all aspects of existence are embodiments of God's essence. The perception of reality is grounded in God's perspective, rendering everything authentic. Although humans dwell in a material realm governed by time, they possess the ability to perceive this world through their own constructed mental images. While we may visually encounter a physical entity or circumstance, the ultimate truth lies in our interpretation and understanding of its physicality, which grants it a sense of reality. It is possible for individuals to experience feelings of loneliness within a confined physical space, but they can mentally transport themselves to a desired location through the power of imagination. Consequently, when the Psalmist depicts the eternal blessings, he is communicating a message about the deep comprehension of the entirety of the world, which was brought into existence by God, from a metaphysical standpoint that is universally understood by all humans. It is for this reason that he delineates the conflicts that arise within this world between individuals driven by virtuous motives and those consumed by immoral cravings. The existence of peril in our lives can be ascribed to the existence of immoral inclinations. Our vulnerability to physical harm is contingent upon the actions of wicked individuals who conceive and produce weapons. While we may pinpoint certain individuals and locations as being hazardous, it is important to acknowledge that malevolent desires permeate the entire human population, transcending geographical boundaries and physical armies. To illustrate this concept, let us consider a hypothetical scenario in which Eve gave in to sin while Adam resisted. In such a situation, Adam's desires would harmonize with moral principles, while Eve's malevolent inclinations would be in direct opposition. The comparison between Adam's dominant desire and Eve's sinful desires is emphasized by the Psalmist, who emphasizes the eternal blessings that come with this comparison. It is suggested in this context that Adam's control over the situation does not require his physical presence. We are reminded not to overlook the metaphysical struggle of desire, which affects all individuals. Through the incarnation of Christ, humanity has been given the ability to regulate the metaphysical realm of desire through various means, such as the law, covenants, curse, and statutes. As a result, the Psalmist confidently declares victory by using axioms to dismantle the influence of evil desires, as seen in Psalm 40:14: "May all those who seek to harm me be humiliated and confused; may those who wish to ruin me be defeated and disgraced." Additionally, in Psalm 41:2, it is affirmed that the LORD will protect and preserve the individual, granting blessings to them in their earthly life and preventing them from succumbing to the desires of their enemies. It is crucial to recognize that our challenges stem not from external circumstances, but rather from our internal longings. Our emotional states, including fear, guilt, shame, sorrow, and pain, significantly shape our perception of reality. The Psalms offer guidance in addressing these desires, allowing us to gain a deeper understanding of the fundamental aspects of the physical world. By speaking the truths contained in the Psalms, we are taught how to effectively navigate and respond to the physical world. Our ultimate goal is to exercise control over creation by harmonizing its various elements. The existential struggle within our existence lies in humanity's ability to construct mental representations. We only exercise our personal agency to create these representations when they align with God's perspective and are deemed authentic by Him.
