The primary focus of belief pertains to the need for appropriate motivation in one's actions. The concept of existence is closely interconnected with performance, given that being in a state of existence necessitates being in a state of performance. Even when an individual is not actively engaged in their existence, performance continues to occur. Passive existence involves being affected by external factors and actively receiving them, which can be regarded as a form of performance. As adherents of Calvinism, we subscribe to the belief that regeneration is not a process in which we actively engage. Rather, our passivity is a direct consequence of the grace of salvation bestowed upon us. This salvation enables us to participate in the process and perceive it as our own achievement. Despite our level of involvement, there exists an indisputable objective reality of the transformation taking place within us. This reality engenders a feeling of assurance and self-assurance in our spiritual progress. If an individual's primary focus is on achieving optimal performance, then their primary motivation would be to attain a complete comprehension of the task at hand. However, this approach may ultimately hinder the objective process of comprehension and create a cognitive impediment that limits one's ability to rely on their understanding. The primary concern resides in the inspiration that propels accomplishment, as the cognitive capacity of humans is deficient in comprehending the core of this inspiration and ascertaining whether it conforms to the accomplishment in question. The pursuit of an objective veracity is an unending endeavor that could clash with the central objective of biblical illumination, which is to foster a dependence on God in all pursuits. From a biblical perspective, the concept of performance state refers to actions that are intentionally inflicted upon an individual or self-initiated with harmful intentions, which expose their inherent state of ethical decay. This binary interpretation does not permit any uncertainty, as an individual's reliance on God is either progressing or regressing. If we consider performance as the foremost approach to attaining a particular goal, then any actions that God undertakes on our behalf and our subsequent acceptance of them may be considered insignificant. Nevertheless, it is crucial to acknowledge that the actions performed by Christ upon us hold immense biblical significance. By accepting these actions, we can cultivate a sense of dependence on them.
