However, unlike a teacher who guides the believer towards Christ, the law serves as a companion. This is due to the fact that the transformative power of grace outweighs the condemnatory consequences brought about by the law.If grace serves as the motivating factor in our quest for Christ, it does so by demonstrating positive outcomes associated with heavenly obligations. In contrast, the law pronounces guilt, whereas grace provides assurance. The law is intended for transgressors, who are characterized as morally compromised individuals. Conversely, individuals depicted as righteous in sacred scriptures are not depicted as transgressors of the law, but rather have been unequivocally cleansed through their association with Christ. Consequently, they have been designated for the exclusive purpose of serving God.The primary objective of the law is to demonstrate the significance of Christ's mercy and grace as the means by which we are protected from the detrimental implications of abiding by the law. This analogy can be likened to the effect of pain medication, which alleviates the destructive consequences associated with the law. Consequently, we are released from the burden of being subjected to the negative consequences of the law. These consequences, often referred to as curses, are inherently linked to death. It is important to note that these curses are perpetually in motion and do not remain dormant at any given time.Emphasizing the importance of having confidence, particularly in the context of grace, is of utmost significance. The dynamic nature of grace is intricately connected to our faith and its depth in God, which relies on our understanding of living within the realm of grace. As a result, grace instills assurance, while the enforcement of the law only serves to pronounce guilt. Nevertheless, God has made provisions to address the condemnation we face, ensuring that those who incur condemnation through adherence to the law are subject to His anger. It is crucial to acknowledge that God's anger is constantly in motion, aligned with His ongoing engagement in the world.God consistently encompasses both love and anger. Instead of viewing these emotions as distinct entities, God actively displays both love and anger in His engagement with humanity. On the one hand, God facilitates rejuvenation for those He has chosen, while on the other hand, He enacts devastation upon those who are not part of His elect. It is crucial to acknowledge that God takes no delight in witnessing or tolerating sin.This is the reason why we are confident in our beliefs. Our confidence does not solely come from the belief that we will be saved, but rather from the understanding that God acts in accordance with His divine nature by providing us with the means to avoid His disapproval through the active operation of the law. Instead of focusing on our past actions, we direct our attention towards the future certainty that God will act in our favor, as the powers of grace overcome our wrongdoings, the influences of the world, and the forces of evil. It is important to acknowledge that we are never in a morally neutral position in this life. On one hand, God corrects the mistakes we make, while simultaneously preparing punishment for the wicked in similar circumstances. This dynamic interaction between the law and grace characterizes the workings of God.
