My contention is that individuals who adhere to religious beliefs frequently establish a psychological and intellectual detachment from Jesus, despite having access to a viable remedy. By engaging in the practice of regularly admitting their wrongdoings and asking for forgiveness, individuals possess the capacity to seek redemption and rectify their misdeeds at any moment. Nevertheless, my personal observations have demonstrated that even though I recognize my proclivity for wrongdoing and strive to confess, there exists a possibility of misconstruing the primary emphasis of Psalm 51 as exclusively related to confession.The psalmist's plea for an increased presence of the Holy Spirit and more joy demonstrates a mixture of confession and a strong desire for pleasure, despite the severity of his sin. This highlights the notion that saints are not merely seeking forgiveness for the sake of it, but rather seeking a deeper connection with the Father.Through persistent knocking on the door of confession and plea for fellowship with the Father, one may achieve a state of selflessness, which is crucial in the act of confessing sins, and ultimately lead to a heightened presence of the Holy Spirit. This newfound oneness and fellowship with the Father will continue to develop and flourish.Saints who lack experience in confessing and seeking fellowship may perceive it as a tedious and burdensome task, leading to feelings of condemnation and impeding prayer. This may cause saints to delay approaching God, as they are deceived by the devil. However, it is crucial to acknowledge that confession is a vital aspect of prayer and should be approached with a humble and contrite attitude. When saints submit themselves to the benevolent guidance of the Spirit, they experience intense emotional responses that propel them towards the pursuit of pleasure. This pleasure serves as a deterrent from sin, as it surpasses all other distractions and replaces them with a fervent devotion to the pleasure found in the pursuit of divine love. This pursuit is an ongoing process that seeks to continuously enrich and strengthen the community of believers.David's overall perspective was influenced by his acknowledgement of God's providence in the child conceived through adultery. Nevertheless, he displayed a strong determination for the survival of the child, which motivated his fervent prayers, even when faced with seemingly insurmountable challenges. He had gained an understanding of the vastness of God's love, resulting in a profound confession in Psalm 51. However, there were also instances where he pleaded for the reversal of discipline by invoking promises. It is important to examine whether David's actions were an attempt to alter God's decree or if God was working through David's prayer and deep connection to bring joy amidst difficult circumstances.
