As a Calvinist with doctrinal convictions, my comprehension of God's supremacy derives from the historical context of God's interactions with Israel, rather than my personal beliefs or Apostle Paul's initial stance. I refute the notion that Israel's identity is chiefly that of a theocratic society and instead view their connection with God as directed towards salvation rather than political authority. Hence, I uphold the belief that all occurrences throughout history are divinely arranged for the objective of salvation, rather than to showcase God's dominion over everything. The issue of personal spirituality presents a formidable challenge that poses great difficulty to confront. It is incorrect to merely define sin as an act of rebellion against God as this would insinuate that God is the one tempting humans to disobey Him. Instead, sin is the underlying cause of all negative interactions among individuals. It is imperative to acknowledge that Calvinism serves a broader purpose beyond illustrating that humans are unable to resist God's will. Its intention is not to reveal our weaknesses and leave us hopeless in our suffering. Rather, the notion of God's absolute sovereignty is meant to highlight His unwavering faithfulness, kindness, patience, and grace. It is believed that God does not curse His own people, but rather promises them blessings that are contingent upon their faith in His promises. Those who believe that God inflicts sorrow upon His children fail to recognize His relationship with Israel as that of a loving Father. This is evident in the patriarchal language used in the Old Testament to describe God's relationship with the nation, which demonstrates that God remains a faithful Father to His children, ruling over them with grace as the foundation of their relationship. The question of why God permits disasters can be answered by examining His benevolent nature and His obligation to respond to the curses of humanity. In accordance with this principle, God counters wicked curses with His own curses, as sin is inherently destructive and must be eradicated. Ultimately, the purpose behind both positive and negative events is to demonstrate God's paternal concern for His offspring.
