Arguing that our identity is exclusively determined by our personal choices is an invalid academic assertion, as there are external factors that can constrain our actions and influence our development. The experiences of prominent figures are a testimony to this limitation, as they are susceptible to pervasive external influences that can mold the public's perception of them. As a result, continuous messages about an individual can ultimately dictate how they are perceived by society. The extent to which we hold a belief about the likelihood of an event occurring or not occurring has minimal influence on our decision-making process regarding future outcomes. Consequently, individuals tend to depict their present circumstances in a straightforward manner. Individuals often perceive that exerting control over their circumstances is essential for achieving a sense of empowerment. This belief may lead them to place excessive trust in their ability to influence outcomes through their choices, without fully acknowledging the extent to which external factors play a role in shaping their circumstances. It is important to recognize that one's life circumstances are influenced by both controllable and uncontrollable factors. The simultaneous presence of individual subjective experiences and concrete objective decisions often results in neglecting the importance of impersonal factors that are not related to our interaction with a situation. As a result, it becomes difficult to fully understand the ultimate meaning of our existence since the concept of "being" remains uncertain.
