The notion of justification through faith carries substantial significance in the acquisition of rewards. Some individuals may hold the belief that this justification solely involves a declaration of righteousness and not a genuine bestowal of Christ's righteousness. Such individuals may arrive at erroneous conclusions about future rewards due to their failure to take into account the totality of God's teachings. In the past, I too subscribed to the idea that obedience rooted in personal devotion would ultimately result in reward.My assessment of my actions was misguided because I was unconditionally loyal to something that was not based on biblical principles. As a result, my evaluation was distorted by an illogical and imaginative standard, leading to an inflated perception of my importance. It was only after understanding and embracing the concept of justification by faith that we recognized the flaw in our reasoning and experienced genuine satisfaction.Prior to the formation of the world, it was necessary for us to recognize that the divine Creator had predetermined our capacity to adhere to our beliefs. God has bestowed upon us the ability to remain resolute by granting us the capacity to comply with His desires and giving us the means to avoid any actions that may be considered disobedient. Consequently, our understanding of faithfulness is equivalent to the notion of divine grace. Additionally, after being justified, we are imbued with the righteousness of Christ. Even though this may not be the actual righteousness of Christ, our decisions to conform to the divine will are regarded as righteous due to his influence. If justification solely served as a means to gain access to salvation, then the efficacy of our sanctification would be contingent upon our own faithfulness. This would necessitate the establishment of an arbitrary benchmark for our faithfulness, and any rewards we received would likely foster feelings of pride within oneself.The sin of pride can lead to self-reliance, which in turn can lead to further sinful behavior. It can cause individuals to become resistant to spiritual growth and instead rely on their own abilities rather than rejoicing in their faith. This can result in a misguided understanding of justification and a departure from the principles of sovereign grace.The concept of justification is a fundamental component of Christian theology, as it holds significant implications beyond the present life. In the hereafter, we will continue to depend on Christ and acknowledge Him as the origin of our righteousness. By accepting Christ, we gain an enduring existence that is inherently linked to Him, and we relinquish our reliance on our own abilities, instead entrusting ourselves to His accomplishments. Although we strive to adhere to His teachings, our obedience is flawed, and it is solely through Christ's obedience that we can attain righteousness.It is a widely observed occurrence for people to experience feelings of inadequacy in meeting societal expectations, even if they believe they are acting morally. It is crucial to maintain a faithful connection with Christ, as solely behaving in a righteous manner does not ensure admittance into heaven. The belief that humans are comprised only of body, soul, and spirit can negatively impact self-perception, as it disregards the absence of animalistic qualities in humans. Instead, it is essential to recognize that humans are made up of both physical and spiritual components, and that our physical bodies were created to rely on Christ. As human beings, we consist of both physical bodies and spiritual souls, granting us the inherent capacity to worship that which transcends the material world. However, there is no self-sufficient reality that exists independently of a divine presence. By embracing the doctrines of total depravity and justification by faith, we can extinguish any notion of self-sufficiency and instead find our identity and confidence in our connection to Christ. Our goodness and the ultimate attainment of eternal life come solely from our relationship with Christ, which serves as the foundation for our perseverance in this life. In the afterlife, any rewards we receive will only be acceptable due to the work of Christ throughout eternity.
