The law known as the curse can be viewed as a conflict between the Lord and those who are wicked. In the Law of Moses, there were declarations of death for those who broke the law. The Psalms portray God's battle against those who oppose Him, with the curse adding increasing weight until the individual is crushed by it. Spiritual weapons are utilized when the curses are pronounced. For instance, in Psalm 7:16, it is stated that the trouble caused by the wicked will eventually come back upon themselves. Psalm 17:13 implores the Lord to intervene and bring down the wicked through the use of His sword. Finally, Psalm 5 suggests that those who disregard the works of the Lord will ultimately be destroyed and never again rebuilt."This is why we are taught that our fight with earthly weapons are of no consequence to this eternal struggle with evil. We may have the responsibility to protect our home but this is an earthly attempt that is constrained by the moment in time 44 1" We have heard with our ears, O God; our fathers have told us what you did in their days, in days long ago. 2 With your hand you drove out the nations and planted our fathers; you crushed the peoples and made our fathers flourish.3 It was not by their sword that they won the land, nor did their arm bring them victory; it was your right hand, your arm, and the light of your face, for you loved them."The difficulty in pronouncing curses has persisted since the dawn of time. Although some rely on physical means such as chariots and horses, true victory over evil can only be achieved through spiritual means and trust in God. Failure to utilize these methods renders one ineffective in opposing evil. The pursuit of temporary solutions prevents an individual from truly overcoming evil. As stated in Genesis 4:7, doing what is right will lead to acceptance, but allowing sin to take hold must be resisted and overcome."One generation teaches the next generation the works of the Lord. The works of the Lord rise and fall according to the pronouncement of the curses and the blessings. Through the decree.....44 4 You are my King and my God, who decrees victories for Jacob.5 Through you we push back our enemies; through your name we trample our foes.6 I do not trust in my bow, my sword does not bring me victory;7 but you give us victory over our enemies, you put our adversaries to shame." Through Gods name is simply the use of Gods law as an instrument of war by the curse of death. This is what the apostle teaches us about sanctification.By adhering to His word, we elevate and purify our cultural practices. Relying on one's own strength and resources is a futile endeavor, as true success and triumph can only be achieved through a steadfast devotion to God's decrees. This process of confronting and overcoming evil through the use of curses requires a profound internal struggle within the heart of the faithful. The act of confessing one's lack of trust serves to weaken the influence of the adversary. Instead, we must recognize that our victories come from God alone, as our own weapons and abilities are insufficient in the face of our enemies. The curse can be likened to approaching peril and fighting against it by repelling it. Our internal struggle involves defeating any obstacles by declaring their demise, even though we may appear to be harmless. True freedom is achieved when our experiences of life and death merge into a cohesive whole, where we navigate the boundary between positive and negative outcomes. This represents our covert resistance through a militant conviction, which cannot be overcome.
