Our relationship with the Holy Spirit is characterized by a sense of innocence and purity. We engage in daily rituals that involve focusing on a particular object and symbol, and striving for a singular goal. Despite our intentions, we often struggle to maintain our faith and give into doubt, undermining our attempts at prayer. However, it would be more logical to trust in the words of Jesus, who promised that anything we ask for in his name will be granted to us. Emotions such as sorrow are not necessarily indicative of a response from God when we pray.When God communicates His emotions, it is a result of His consistent actions in a given situation. Our reliance on individuals lacking faith can lead to disappointment. It is commonly understood that testing God does not guarantee a miracle. This pattern of thought is often repeated as a result of our initial skepticism towards God's goodness, patience, and unwavering love, which we may not fully comprehend through personal experience.The reason why God is perceived as being distant and unresponsive during times of trouble is due to our lack of faith in His inherent reliability. If we truly believed that God had the power to determine the outcome of our struggles, we would not lose hope in His promises nor question His intentions. This concept is straightforward and does not require a Calvinist to rely solely on human willpower to increase their hope. Unfortunately, this process is often fruitless in a world that is resistant to change.The process of relying solely on oneself is an unproductive endeavor that often leads to feelings of regret, guilt, shame, and fear. This tendency to become fixated on human capabilities is a common flaw that can cloud our judgment. Similarly, some individuals struggle to accept the belief that God is entirely in control, even though this doctrine holds significant importance. If we were not as susceptible to sinful desires, we would be better equipped to face any situation, even when encountering non-believers who attribute sin to reasons other than God's sovereignty.The root cause of individuals' inability to overcome moral distress and marital conflicts is attributed to their lack of belief in the nearness and sovereignty of God. This fundamental belief serves as the foundation for their understanding of forgiveness and the experience of God's sovereign goodness. By reflecting on one's own shortcomings and acknowledging God's sovereignty, saints can progress towards a better understanding of forgiveness and spread these values to others.The saints strive to attain the gifts of the our loving Father, which are facilitated through the principles of disregarding past occurrences. This experience is one of mystery, which illustrates the sovereignty of the Almighty over all matters. Any inclination towards self-determination leads to unsatisfied personal discontent and remorse. Persisting in humanistic determinism is a misguided approach.
