Saints who struggle with persistent sin are left with only one remedy, which is to receive grace. Grace is an unmerited gift that cannot be earned through repentance. The notion of repentance being an unattainable objective is often presented, resulting in an inability for isaints to acquire or maintain grace. The pursuit of grace as a means of overcoming sin is an attempt to earn it, which is an invalid approach. Grace is immeasurable and cannot be quantified. If it is, it ceases to be grace. Therefore, it is impossible to demonstrate one's possession of grace through repentance, as it is a contradictory concept.Christ's teachings were difficult for a purpose beyond man's ability to will himself towards salvation. These teachings highlighted the inherent inability of man to achieve redemption independently and the necessity of divine regeneration in the form of repentance. To comply with these teachings, a Christian must surrender their sins unconditionally to God. The significance of this is that guilt is not a beneficial state, but rather a burden that hinders spiritual progress.
