It is my contention that the importance of both the physical earthly reality and the eternal heavenly reality cannot be overlooked. As human beings, we consist of both a body and a spirit, which exist together in a perpetual union. Although the precise nature of the interplay between these two components is not entirely comprehended, it is evident that physical experiences can impact our spiritual state, and vice versa. Our thoughts and emotions give rise to physical sensations that can affect our capacity to experience spiritual joy in Christ. Furthermore, the splendor of the world around us can elicit a sense of eternal purpose and contribute to our rejoicing in Christ. Ultimately, these sensations and experiences are critical components of our relationship with Christ. As we endure hardship, we are simultaneously enduring the agonies of mortality. Although we may attempt to avoid contemplating our eventual demise, the gradual manifestation of sin and mortality becomes increasingly evident as we age. We become fatigued and encounter heightened levels of discrimination. Furthermore, the aspirations we previously held are no longer attainable. Despite being at the pinnacle of our exhilarating encounters, certain pleasures have diminished. It is a disheartening truth that we encounter when we reflect upon the magnificent experiences we once had with the Holy Spirit, where we felt a divine presence in our physical being and were able to accomplish vigorous and impactful endeavors in our youth. As time progresses, it brings about a great deal of sadness to witness the decline of such experiences.Despite our limited understanding, the influence of the Holy Spirit on our physical well-being is significant. The mechanism by which the Spirit imparts vitality to our bodies remains unknown, but His effects are evident in our increased longevity and overall quality of life. As we engage in contemplation of spiritual matters, the Spirit initiates a cascade of neurological processes that enhance brain function and stimulate the proliferation of brain cells. It is possible to alter the chemical equilibrium in our brains through our thought processes. By consciously controlling and redirecting our thoughts, as directed by the Holy Spirit, we can enhance our physical experiences and perceive the magnificence of Christ through His manifestation in Jesus.Upon reaching heaven, we shall be able to recognize the divine in a corporeal sense, as the Spirit instructs us in an everlasting and tangible manner. However, owing to our limited perceptual abilities, our ultimate reward will be the result of the intercession of the Holy Spirit during the transition from earthly to celestial realms, facilitated by our prayers.Salvation is dependent on the decrees, commands, laws, and promises found in the teachings of the word. Our perception of Christ and his saving grace is manifested through our physical senses during the preaching of the word. Thus, the way we observe him initiates the emergence of a bodily experience of his presence. The Holy Spirit's hidden activities pertain to the process of regeneration, which commences when an individual hears the word and reacts to it with an indescribable and magnificent joy. This initial regeneration is not dependent on verbal professions of faith, but rather entails a comprehensive metamorphosis whereby the individual becomes a channel for indescribable and sublime experiences that exceed sensory perception.
