Love is not true love unless it is based on relationships and is under the control of God. Forgiveness is not real forgiveness unless it is based on relationships and is under the control of God. Compassion is not real compassion unless it is based on relationships and is under the control of God.If we define love, forgiveness, and compassion in a way that is different from how God has defined them, then we are devaluing these concepts and the relationships we have built around them will not be as meaningful. This is why God says that vengeance belongs to Him. He is not only saying that He is the only one who has the right to ultimately judge man, but He is setting the line of the standard of all of His attributes of His anger and justice. So God is saying that there is no anger that can consume a man, because if it is given to God, it will be consumed by God. In other words, if you give your anger to God, He will deal with it in a way that is just and fair. Now that, in understanding God's nature, we cannot be controlled by sin and death, is the ultimate love. God has made a way for love and hate to meet together, and has conquered death; but at the same time He must do the work in His time and His way, so we are always in danger of going faster than He wants.By understanding God's nature, we can better resist being controlled by sin and death. God has created a way for love and hate to come together, and has conquered death, but He must do the work in His own time and way. We are always in danger of moving too fast for Him.God's love for us is incomparable to any other love because it is defined by God Himself. This means that the standard of love set by God is impossible for anyone else to equal. By understanding the difference between human love and divine lovewe can see the personal connection that is inherent in God's love for us. This is why we are given the gift of faith: so that we can believe in God's care and control, even when we cannot see it happening. If God were in any way limited in His actions according to His word, then He would be subject to our definition of love, which is based on the love we learn from other people. The fact that God's actions in our lives are always based on His love for us is a demonstration of His grace. This love is manifested in the form of good gifts, which we come to understand through faith. In turn, this understanding allows us to experience true freedom, as we no longer need to worry about our own happiness or security. We can confidently rely on God to provide for all our needs. If God has given us something, we have the right to take and use it according to His will. If we are able to take and use what God has given us, then we are free to receive it and be content in God, even if we feel powerless and reliant upon God. All that we have accomplished or will accomplish in our lives is only possible because God has granted us the capability to do so. Every positive attribute we have - strength, love, happiness, peace, compassion, faithfulness - is only because God has bestowed it upon us.
