Love is not something we are determined to have or avoid. Hate is not something that tempts us and then we overcome it, and then struggle to love the person we are attracted to. Love is not really love in genuine relationships between people. The only real love is the love that God expresses to us. So the struggle to love someone who is hard to love is not really about whether we love them, but it is a struggle to understand the height, depth, and length of God's love for us.If there is true love in the world, there is no need to shout in the streets, there is no need to break through walls to escape the state's captivity, and there is no need to go into the state's captivity ourselves. Instead, we will see people giving their time and gifts to those less fortunate, and churches and other groups working together to care for widows and orphans. This kind of love will be a major focus in the world, and it will make it a much better place.Businesses would focus on improving the worker's quality of life and their holistic health, as well as the families' quality of life. In other words, we would put love and care above demands, intuition and logic above reasoning in order to better serve our neighbor. We believe that God will punish those who try to harm others, and that He works in accordance with His own mysterious ways.There would be a society where the powerful served the vulnerable, instead of exploiting and looking down on them. This would require knowledge and love, not just determination. To love in this way, we need to protect the vulnerable and know the ones who will hurt them. We cannot do this by sheer will power or by simply deciding to love. Only by knowing God can we truly love.
