Because of this, we are dealing with a more subtle way of molding the mind, which is making it less able to communicate beauty and mystery out of mystery. There is a spiritual component here in the desire to remove all obstacles to seeking God. Our way of looking at life is through the mystery in ideas that have no explanation in the way things are recreated. In other words, we are more interested in the spiritual potential of an experience than the material reality of it.The way we think about life is influencing how we see beauty and mystery, and this is making it harder for us to connect with these things on a spiritual level. We're more interested in concepts and ideas than in the physical reality of them, which is why we're losing touch with what makes things beautiful and mysterious. It is not our own power or resources that enable us to know grace, but rather the grace that is within us. This is what the apostle was saying – that it was not him that accomplished his purpose, but the grace that was in him. We are able to trust in Christ's word of deliverance because we can observe His hand at work in creation, even though we were not present when He created it. This enables us to have faith that He will do what He has promised, even though we may not understand how He will do it. By God's grace, we are able to see what Christ has done for us in the future and trust in His word of deliverance, even though we may not fully understand it.
