The peace that God offers us is far superior to anything else that we might find as comfort in this world. I do not think that you can separate any of God's attributes in His presence for us to dwell in His peace. This is why the teaching of all of His attributes are leading us to dwell in His rest. This is the totality of being set apart for a holy purpose because God is holy. He has already obtained peace since we have been justified by faith. Here is where we grow in our understanding of finding all of our rest in Him.The challenge we face is overcoming the temptation to find comfort in something else. This temptation is always present because when we want to do good, evil is right there with us. But we have a new reality that has taken over in our view of rest. The difficulty is finding rest in the simplicity that is found in Jesus Christ. What we need to see is that in seeking Christ we find our comfort.Because God promises that those who seek Him will find Him, we can be confident that He will guide us in the ways of righteousness and help us to resist temptation. This is how we define Christ in any one attribute as the reality of all of the other attributes. This is the holiness we seek. Our confidence is based on our understanding that God is always there as a source of comfort. We know that the peace that passes all understanding comes from Him. This is a metaphysical peace that defines His holiness. All of this is our ongoing experience of His salvation. When we rest in Him, we know that the more we seek Him through grace, the more we are going to grow in our understanding of finding comfort in His shelter. This is God speaking salvation to us. We learn to know His voice alone, and these positive illuminations are new realities that are deepening and growing like a seed implanted in us is growing that fruit from this nourishment. He speaks everything into existence, and we know that our real and more profound peace will come when He speaks that kind of peace to us in the illumination of that saving knowledge.The word of God is like a precious piece of gold or silver. It is only through seeking Him that we can find the profound pleasure of speaking salvation to us. When we seek Him, we will find Him because we have a place that we find that is not of this earth.
