Free grace refers to the gifts that God bestows on us based on Christ's work. It is not contingent on our status in this world, as God determines our paths. However, we can learn a language that allows us to find all the expressions of God's emanations in how they work in our souls. This is simply a form of communication. God has spoken and it is written down for our encouragement and success in this life. God's word not only reveals our identity, but it also provides solutions to the problems we face in this life from a transformed perspective. The word of God has the power to transform us into more Christ-like beings, by teaching us to long for the light of the word and leading us to the person of Christ. The light of His glory, which we receive through illumination, has the power to change us from one glory to another. This light of glory is a clear communication from God that we are to live a life of prayer.Prayer can be seen as a metaphor for breathing. Just as we take in air to sustain ourselves, we receive wisdom from God to help us understand our experiences. And just as we release air when we breathe out, we tell God what we want from Him. The more we learn how to describe what is going on, the more we are aligned with our true selves, and the less frustrated we become. We will also be less likely to trust in something else to answer our needs.Prayer is a way of learning to breathe deeply and connect with our innermost selves. When we pray, we learn to pay attention to the deep yearnings and distress of our souls, so that we don't get caught up in frustration and resentment. When we have found God, we are no longer restless.
