What God made was an everlasting gospel, and it is always foolish. The message is clear: those who don't follow God will be cursed to hell, without any hope of salvation. So if God can save the most foolish of men, surely he is extra good. What men will never do is carry out the moral law unless they first respectfully submit to the law and authoritative pronouncements. The gospel is not like charming personalities or people's reactions of conscious guilt and self-pity. What the gospel is, is a visible sign of repentance. What kind of soil is best for the gospel to take root in? It is natural for the terrible wrath of God to mock the wicked. The most vicious curses gave birth to this. No one universally accepts that God curses. The gospel of God is not our personal opinions. What God's response boils down to is that it's logically impossible to offer something for eternal salvation. God calls us to pronounce his eternal wrath. What he wants us to do is make it known to everyone that his anger will never end. What God is angry about is us not satisfying His divine law, and He's pestering us to curse. We are much more competent than other teams because we score a lot of goals. The gospel is born from a sinner who complains to God and asks for divine pity. It is offensive to a moral persuasion. The notorious sinner bitterly curses the same sins he has knowingly committed, to graciously receive a special favor that God revealed to him. Pointing the finger at the wicked, he gains sentimental pity. It's foolish to think that we can just ignore the problem. What the gospel really means is that even though we can't help ourselves, God has promised to save us. And even though it will cost Him dearly, He's still going to do it. What God is claiming is that the extensive exposure of the sin is undoubtedly a sufficient reason for Him to swear on Himself. This is foolish. Americans are likely to appreciate the value of scientific research. It's impossible to measure the evil of sin. What a grievous sin requires is more grace to overcome it. What pragmatic teachers vainly offer is a gospel that appeals to our moral senses. Repentance is proof that grace is not cheap. What Americans don't like is the gospel being everlasting and completely dumbfounding to cultural icons. It must be appealing to the moral persuasion in order to adequately secure premium prices. If an American does not accept sovereign grace, you tell them that God will scourges them to hell, and they will think you are foolish. You tell them that you curse the wicked to everlasting hell and that you got really lathered up in divine presence. How foolish they say it is! You are merely expanded with personal hate, erring brother. You need the gospel that makes sense. What a sovereign grace you have! What pragmatists will never do is change. God had to rage to convince the ordinary man to understand the glory of a foolish message. He is perpetually try appealing to the intelligence. What he's concerned with is making the gospel socially acceptable. He's very nervous about it. He will not allow what? A raging God!
