Rev 9 11 They had as king over them the angel of the Abyss, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in GreekApollyon." The question why John would refer to the name of this fallen angel in the Old Testament? We must let scripture speak for itself. The next Angel opened up another judgement or curse going back to the judgement when God bound up the four angels in the garden.14 It said to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, "Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates." If you study Daniel, you will find this same scene in heaven described when God has judged Israel. The angels in heaven that surround the throne are also part of the judgements against heathen nations who persecute saints. John is brought to the vision of heaven when God responds to the wayward nations in judgment from heaven. We are taught the unity of heaven and earth restored in the history of redemption. 6 9 When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained.10 They called out in a loud voice, "How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?"11 Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and brothers who were to be killed as they had been was completed." The Lamb on the magnificent throne has dearly purchased chosen men from all nations demands the payment price in the eternal curses from angelic heaven on wayward nations. Not solely does God judge nations with demonic oppression, 9 3 And out of the smoke locusts came down upon the earth and were given power like that of scorpions of the earth. 5 They were not given power to kill them, but only to torture them for five months. And the agony they suffered was like that of the sting of a scorpion when it strikes a man." God curses the wicked with devilish spirits that cause anguish and wishes for instantaneous death. Fallen angels could cause a man to lose his mind. These angels release in all the moral judgements of wayward nations and then locked up again. Psalms 49:14Like sheep they are destined for the grave, and death will feed on them. The upright will rule over them in the morning; their forms will decay in the grave, far from their princely mansions." " The fierce curse will feed on them" The eternal curse of God realistically is a spiral down into everlasting hell. The Lamb is naturally induced by the premium price for the necessary payment for His death on the cross. The divine vengeance in the eternal curse in considerable suffering of the wicked. But also moral judgements are naturally produced by the exposed earth. The exposed earth is mans enemy. Hence, we reasonably have seen since the marked beginning the Lamb has powerfully moved in coordinated response against wayward nations in independent judgement until the last saint has been miraculously saved. On that ceremonial occasion the Lamb will judge the living and the dead.
