When an atheist says, "There is no God," he is admitting that he is currently at war with God. The atheist knows that he faces a powerful opponent, so he is trying to undermine God's existence by trying to prove that God does not exist. This statement is commonplace or widespread. Yes, I am aware that there may be other gods, but this does not apply to the holy saints who are revered by believers. The Psalms were not written to condemn all debauched men in an individualistic sense; rather, they were written to condemn sinful behavior in general. God sees sinfulness and holiness the same way. We often forget how much we owe ourselves when we're in a life-threatening situation. O Lord, if only I could sing the praises of you with eloquence! If only I had the ability to eloquently express all the wonderful things you have done for me! But I am just a human, so I can only say a few things here. When I am feeling down, you comfort me with your love. When I am lost, you lead me back to the path that is right for me. Those who harm my people will never prosper-- they are like those who eat bread and never pray to the Lord. The group of righteous people see God present among the sinners, and they are filled with dread. What often accompanies wicked behavior? We realized that love was unlikely to survive in a world where it was so rare. In a world full of violence and chaos, love is usually based on nothing more than fleeting emotions and whim. He can bear all the pain and suffering without feeling the conflict between the eternal curse and the abundant blessing.
