The divine law of God is an effective tool for Israel to morally justify their victorious war against the heathen nations. The purpose of the law was to remove anyone who we were proactively addressing as potential violators of God's paternal government on this fruitful earth. The reason why God ordinarily required Israel to purposely destroy every violent person and burn everything in making war with the heathen nations was to mark those who persistently violated His divine law as allowing the potential of spreading evil through short-lived rebellion. Violent rebellion is an act of insurrection against the government of GodThis is why God has compared the compulsory teaching of the Pharisees to the disruptive presence of leaven. It was the custom for Israelites to carefully remove the smallest piece of leaven from their homes. This was a fitting analogy of the impending danger of false teaching. God knew that an armed rebel would inevitably lead to a violent uprising. This protects all chosen people from being harshly judged by their fellow man. God's law was not meant to be used by people who are only interested in pragmatic outcomes. The moral law is unyielding and does not allow for concessions or half-hearted attempts. The violation of the Gods Law is punishable by death instantly. The moral law is an effective means of assured destruction. Gods hope that those who violate their trust will one day experience an eternity of death. This is why God chose to speak the eternal punishment of breaking the law in official language. This is why it is so important to obey His laws, as they will ensure that we are punished accordingly. The reason God articulated the eternal curses was so we would not be deceived about the destructive power of the violated law. The eternal curses raise the stakes of an everlasting destruction that we can't intuitively understand. When we get outraged because we have been wronged, the severity of God's judgement makes us realize that our anger is misplaced. From the perspective of God, there is no gray area in terms of moral acceptability. Every day, man dies naturally and must face judgement. There will be no persuasive argument that can get past the gates of heaven at the last minute. In God's eyes, there are only those who are blessed or those who are cursed. At every tick of the clock in the official history of the world, Gods always have perfect moral judgements. We never encounter God in independent moral judgements. If God were to reveal sin clearly to humanity, we would be destroyed in an instant by what we see. The reason we don't truly believe that we are faithfully delivered by the choice of God is because we don't hear Him passionately declaring the destructive voice of the eternal law. We automatically assume that God is pragmatic like the wicked world we live.
