The Lord always provides what is necessary for success. He is the one who has brought about the most auspicious progress in all of existence. Israel was led out of Egypt by a protective cloud. On their journey through the desert, God gave them a clear signal through the clouds. At last, they arrived in the Promised Land - a land they had heard about from the Lord. The billowing cloud was a glorious display of divine power. Throughout all of time, God is always directing the active movements of all of the created things. In this way, God is acting decisively and proactively by creating and re-creating things according to His will, always working in the best interest of all. We are alive and active because we are rooted in God. Not only does God capitalize on the things of progress, but He keeps us together too. Since God is always there to help us, we are able to live exclusively on His mercy. When God led the Israelites by the cloud, He showed His power and order, both of which are always present in His life. He vigilantly looked after them in the blazing heat of the desert sun and the dreary light of the moon, always ensuring that they were safe. This is a beautiful image of the divine incarnation of Christ, who came to be a man and followed his Father perfectly. He is an excellent example of how to follow God and become a good person. As God helped Israel journey through treacherous territory to the Promised Land, Christ provided us with a way to be made completely acceptable to the Father through His flawless actions and complete atonement.
