Ps 147 2 The LORD builds up Jerusalem; he gathers the exiles of Israel. 3 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." The saints are saved into a new kingdom. Our moral struggle is no longer defined by success or failure. We are rightly regarded by God as special recipients of all the beautiful things of His creation. In the Christian experience, we become as if made perfect, we are imagined as beloved brothers who are the independent production of the creative work of God. In the eternal kingdom, He must amply supply all that we properly obtain by divine grace. In this Psalm, recreational work generously given by God as an extraordinary gift is satisfactorily accomplished by God alone. Since God generously provides the resources necessary for creation who are not free moral agents, he must therefore faithfully do all the work for his devoted brethren, who are. The guiding principle in the mighty kingdom is in another mode of success than that of the wicked. In the established kingdom, we must effectively use the appropriate means He has adequately provided as our adequate security and our remarkable success. What is the only way we can truly enjoy a life of godliness? His sacred word and his Spirit. Of our essential goodness. We have been carefully ushered into this eternal realm by continual renewal. We died and were resurrected to eternal life. We are currently stuck with a marked tendency to return to the moral law where we can simply offer something. This painful temptation is like kryptonite to the superman. We must carefully avoid wishing for salvation to operate under the terrible curse. 6 The Lord sustains the humble, but casts down the wicked." The Psalmist correctly describes the authoritative utterance of the eternal curse as the action of God in undoubtedly causing a shooting star to descend upon the created earth. It is easy for us to fight in this protracted battle because God has granted us the extraordinary gift of protecting us from all unacceptable violence You see, the wicked are unable to simply mirror self-destructive opposition and simply enjoy finding true security from all personal violence. But the recognized saints are carefully recommended by the intrinsic desire to be carefully protected.
