 We know when something is wrong when an authoritative Person says it is wrong.

 We find our peaceful abode in a place we can get away from all the chaos and misunderstandings. When we live in a world with a lot of unknowns, we are comfortable with difficult times God uses authoritative statements like this official statement of objective reality as a curse.
