Reconciliation is simply the same word as saving the relationship. The definition is to make peace between two parties. The apostle says he brought nothing to their salvation. The rule as the basis of grace only through faith in Christ alone is we only come to him with one thing and that is our sin.
Scripture teaches us when we are saved we are wholly made in Christ; we are definitely sanctified. This means we can look past our salvation and know God is renewing us for glory by creating oblivion and a new story of salvation. But even though we are perfectly perfect in Christ, we must still experience this in our walk. Hence, not only did Christ give us the gift of salvation, but went out before us and was successful. He is the light that goes out before us... He is the fire that consumes our enemies on all sides.Since our salvation has already been fully bought for us, we do not stand in the center but rather cheer our leader as we move forward in this world. This is the apostle's admonition before speaking of our walk in this world.
But we are not yet complete with our experience. We have yet to acknowledge these things to make them that way. We still must strive to put all our trust in the gospel of grace. So we are still waiting to receive our full salvation.Salvation is a right of confession until the moment it becomes a reality we pronounce blessings and cry out to God.
