Grace uniquely represents a truth that is inconvenient to understand. Some of us give up because we give in to a particular sin. Some of us give up because we fail to do something that we realized too late we should do. We are more preoccupied with protecting ourselves than dealing with a particular problem and so reluctantly conclude that we will not pursue it until we voluntarily offer those problem areas to God. We just show such glaring flaws in our active lives. Most of the time we foolishly think that Christ condemns us harshly for these things.
We need to understand that God treats us like grieving sinners. God is better able to work proactively to miraculously transform the larger psychological problems we suffer from. Works best with hardened hearts and imperfect people. In the challenging years I have certainly learned that God cares for us. Especially about our sacred trust before he works proactively to carefully align our active lives with his will.We realize that we are forcing it backwards; we believe that God will change to the point where it discourages us; that God has a very strict and demanding schedule.
