The saints are reborn in the war between good and evil;not merely the war between the righteous and evil men. We are caught in this war between God and Satan. War is bigger than violence. It is a spiritual conflict that requires eternal warriors, that is the angels, cherubim and Christ in conflict with the demons, the fallen angels and the devil, so this war is waged with spiritual weapons.
In this world humanity is surrounded by invisible spirits. This teaching arises from the battle of Jacob and the angel of the Lord. We are taught that invisible forces interact with physical creation. Man cannot be a major player in this war. The allegory of Christ's coming with his angels to destroy Israel's enemies is the basis of our survival. 18 9 He parted the heavens and came down; there were clouds under his feet.10 He mounted the cherubim and flew; He rose on the wings of the wind 11 He made darkness for his cover, his canopy around him, the dark rain clouds of 12 From the brightness of his presence, the clouds moved with hail and lightning 13 The LORD thundered from heaven, the voice of the rang out Most High. 14 He shot his arrows and scattered the enemy, great lightning and conquered them. "The psalmist teaches that the Lord intervened in the battles of Israel when the conflict was highest to save Israel. This is the metaphor of eternal salvation.National salvation has never been achieved through human powers. Spiritual redemption lies in God alone. In the Psalms, the struggle and victory of  Israeli wars are described in the same terms as the war between God and Satan in our salvation.
The terms of our salvation are described in the same way that Israel achieved victory by completely annihilating its enemies. The psalmist compares the spiritual tranquility enjoyed by God's people of wandering the battlefield among the bodies of the enemy after they have been completely destroyed. Because before the foundation of the world, God determined this conflict, which would end with death. Hence, it is necessary for the curse to end in death. This is why we find David confessing that they won the land not by his sword, but by the right hand and the light of the eyes of the Lord. “The psalmist teaches that life and death are in the hands of the Lord.
Our physical weapons cannot attain salvation. We have to fight with weapons, God proclaims life and death Spirit This is exactly how the war with the serpent began. It started with God casting a curse on the serpent; God announced the serpent's death through the cross of Christ; the war did not only take place on the cross; it was a war that began with the fall in the garden. The psalmist compares this war to a series of deliverance's as a nation thrives by destroying its enemies.
Scripture always describes the serpent as a political and spiritual opposition to the kingdom of God. You find this comparison with the Fiery Serpent on the pole when the Israelite's were bitten by the snakes in the camp where they would live. What happens if Israel turns away from the law? The authorities become abusive. Snakes are always a metaphor for political or religious leaders. When Israel deviates from the law, the abusive culture of tyrants is like the army of snakes that bite.
In all of these comparisons between the wars for God's salvation and the wars in Israel, the point is that liberation requires death. Not only did Christ die as a substitute for our sin, but He also became that serpent on the pole for us to see and live. Christ had to become this dying threat for us to live. He became a curse for us. This is how the psalmist describes this war. As more than a struggle with sin. It is a war, we must kill the opposition by word and Spirit.
Therefore, the psalmist gives us this incredible teaching which is found in the writings of the apostles 1 Cor. 1 18 For the message of the cross is madness to the lost, but to us who are saved it is the strength of God. “He says that Christ has already killed the spiritual opposition. We just explain what's dead. You will see that the world cannot accept, whatever we reject will be done as a substitute, it is justice through karma. You will see that the world does not understand the only way to free itself from injustice through death. There is no hope in karma. Karma can satisfy the temporary enjoyment of retribution, but it will never set us free. The cross is mad for the world because we put all our hopes in the death and resurrection of Christ. All of our opposition must be heeded in the death of Christ.
