I don't like taking sin into a pragmatic approach that provides sufficient empirical evidence that we are less devout Christians than someone indulging in less destructive sins. The inspired apostle says that we must die of sin and no longer have to live in it, but then he says that he is not doing what he sincerely wants to achieve, but what he does not want to do, he does. Hence, he is right to say that sometimes he does it well and sometimes he does it badly.
There is no possible moment in this active life when the inspired apostle does not indulge in sin. What is the fundamental difference between those who remain silent under the arbitrary power of sin and those who have died of sin? We are wrong. The union of these scriptures graciously offers us a realistic vision of our ideal humanity. What is wrong with openly admitting that we are being marked for sin in this bare land? Responsible for their sins, they would be properly separated from their other generation.
The extraordinary power of divine forgiveness lies not in
self-deception, but in God's rational explanation of his moral view of
us. Where does it say God marks the sins we continually commit but does not acknowledge the sins we repent? Remembering our sins because we naturally fail to repent on our own; consequently, the power to repent is declared to us when we are assured that God does not remember our sin.Ask how much sadness allows them to show that they are confident in their particular strength. It is an extraordinary challenge for Christians to equate their weakness with the obsession with their own repentance. They just want to make an effort to atone for sins. Appear weak to show convincingly that our ability lies solely in the judicial power of Christ.
