Ps 49 7No man can redeem the life of another

or give to God a ransom for him-

8 the ransom for a life is costly,

no payment is ever enough-

9 that he should live on forever

and not see decay."

Gods kingdom turns the kingdom of man upside down. The elect are given real value because they are redeemed by God. The world system is run by the profits and the providing success of the people by wicked men. The elect are blessed by God using the curse to promote the their success. The Psalmist is saying that the world is place where men receive rewards according to their work.The Psalmist calls this relationship of servitude to the law of returns like a beast that lives as a slave to Gods law. But the world system treats Gods people with contempt , but in realty their presence is the only reason for the blessing that increases the profits of those are cursed. The Psalmist is using the law as an instrument in the pronouncement of the curse that frees the wicked in some ways from the slavery of the reward system in this world.

Gods elect have the ability to use the power that is exercised over the people who are under the wicked to increase the judgement as they create a system of slavery in increasing their profits. As the value of Gods redemption is provided in blessing the value of final judgement is increased toward the wicked This is why when they die they will leave their profits for Gods purposes.

When sin entered the world man naturally becomes his own God. The problem is that the law is the standard of true success and value. But man is condemned by the law because he is corrupted. So man in his natural state is cursed to be a slave of the law. And God actually increases the effects of the curse by making man unable to promote life in Gods covenant of creation in which man was given the earth to enjoy.Rather the wicked are made to work and accumulate the wealth as a slave to the law in order to provide success for Gods purposes. So a wicked man will spend his whole life working and accumulating. This is necessary in order to have a growing economy.

At the same time God blesses His elect by giving them their desires. When God provides whatever His elect need it is for their happiness and their health. Whatever work is done in this world is made for the purposes of God in the original creation ordinance. The curses prevent Gods people from the abuses of in the godless system and also work in some ways to free the wicked of their slavery to the law as their own gods. When men are brought to the end of themselves they experience common grace.

Man born as a god thinks that he can actually pay the ransom in order to provide the people with eternal life. Man naturally thinks that he will live forever. Any time we say that man can achieve anything that he puts his mind to then we have cast off all of the constraints that God provides man in the grace motif. In other words the world functions on process and the people are successful working that process even if it kills them. The wicked are like dogs that will eat whatever you put in front of them to the point of death. God uses that slavery to increase the wealth of the nations.But the reality is that all real value in this world is given because of the presence of Gods redeemed people. The pronouncement of the blessing is the fulfillment of the desires of Gods elect. .
