Ps 12 6 And the words of the LORD are flawless,

like silver refined in a furnace of clay,

purified seven times."

"1 Help, LORD , for the godly are no more" Lit..Save, for the gracious man is no more. God has revealed His word in laws, covenants, curses, promises and statutes. Here the Psalmist is saying that these words are sufficient to be applied as the authority that overrules all the words that are spoken on the earth. These are spoken applications to all of life. We should speak the words of God. In this sense the words are the crucible and the fire that judges. The covenant is that by which God establishes His relationship with man by grace, the law is establishes Gods creative acts and His government over the creation,the curses are that which God destroys all the opposition to salvation,the promises are that by which God blesses His elect by taking all of the profitable acts of men and using them for His purposes and to preserve His elect, and the statutes are the foundation of the whole defining the parts.

The gracious man speaks these gifts in order to establish salvation by grace on the earth. Salvation has been established on the earth in the creation ordinance. Salvation is in God alone. What exist that man has not been given? The man of grace views all reality being spoken by God through the gifts. Anything in relation to man was created by Gods word or the gifts. (law,covenant etc) All of the reasons of mans existence and anything that he is related to must be recreated through the gifts. All world views must be through the gifts. We must be converted through the pronouncements of the gifts in order to understand reality.This is what the Reformers called thinking thoughts after God.

There is nothing that we obtain that is not given by God. There is no trouble that we face that has not been cursed by God. There is no fellowship on this earth that has not been planned by God. There is no blessing that we receive that has not been planned by God. There is no real reality that is not recreated through the gifts. All opposition to good is the redefining of Gods gifts. Gods gifts are the only saving reality. The gracious elect promote salvation in reordering all things through the art of pronouncing that is like putting all other words through the crucible of fire that purifies and recreates all things.
