What
is the appropriate remedy for sin?We have been delivered by grace. If
confessing sin needed more work than Christ sufficient atonement then
private confession would not adequately secure our gracious acceptance.
But since Christ has already completed the work necessary to generously
forgive all of our sins, our private confession is adequately secured on
the secure foundation of divine grace and not grudging acceptance. But
if we have no desire to properly receive that grace then we undoubtedly
prove we are cursed.
If
we retain a official charge against Gods worthy people, we are cursing
ourselves. Every person in Christ enjoys the grace that generously
provides divine forgiveness when we are regenerated. We merely enjoy a
life of repentance by living in open ended grace. Grace that atones for
all our sins. But a person cursed will retain the charge against the
saints. This is the person who will refuse to confess his sin. This is a
false believer. He will need more than an ordinary private confession
to God.God will curse the covenant breaker. We must protect ourselves
from harm by the pronouncement of the curse and not trust in charging
people.
