The Psalmist is teaching our sole hope of being secure in this world is encountering God. If we genuinely enjoy God then we are consistently receiving paternal blessings. Consequently, the question is why is it that we feel extremely anxious in this world? Why do we feel inferior in a shattered world carefully designed and sustained by God? And the straightforward answer is because of sin and rampant corruption that exist from the beginning of time. When Adam fell into sin, he began redefining Gods word. The human race began wrecking the world by developing a culture of violence.
The Psalmist is teaching us the entire world is in darkness, and Gods word obtains the exclusive means to illuminate our way. In Psalm 2, Gods moral judgements are undelayed. God is absolutely justified at all times. His line of justice is always the same. Blessing and cursing cannot be thwarted. Psalm 3 he informs us that we will defy an insurmountable army from day to day. We should not be surprise at the circumstances in our lives and feel like we are predisposed for war. The opposition we encounter made us fear for our lives. Then here in Psalm 4 we live vicariously in a world men scheme against Gods creative order. We are constantly facing the misrepresentation of our admirable plans. We are always being forced in an evil prophecy about us and our legitimate purposes. It is fascinating the Psalmist wisely directs us how to adequately deal with our justified anger before Psalm 5 in how to deal with our moral guilt.
Therefore, we see in the grand opening of the Psalms he is showing that we must approach God throughout the day to adequately deal with personal attitudes. We cannot intentionally allow these pessimistic attitudes of sloth, woeful lack of faith, entertaining shattered hope, being hardened by anger and terrible guilt to flourish from one day to the next. We must liberally apply these Psalms so that we will not allow ourselves to be hardened. In this Psalm he is demonstrating the illustrated importance of sufficiently knowing the diabolical scheme we constantly face.We should pitch it over to God.
In Psalm 2 we are respectfully informed that the world is accurately controlled by Gods kingdom principles. Man cannot opposes the kingdom of God who judges all things in life and death pronouncements. In this Psalm God is the Elohim reordering of all things and revealing them in Christ. When we are faithfully delivered, we are set apart from the world by divine grace. In Psalm 3 he justly describes our violent opposition in the brutal world, but in 4 he is describing our inward opposition.
All communication accurately represent a cultural war in a world man
returns to his legitimate purpose of genuinely enjoying the
extraordinary gifts of God. God is reordering our comprehensive view by properly teaching us the divine prophecy of blessing. But wicked men devise fraudulent schemes that vociferously oppose our prevailing view of a righteous God. We must discern the schemes and be aware of our reaction of anger in encountering the opposition. We must justly deal with our anger in the curse before it hardens us.
