Most innocent people have not memorized the Psalms. Because the sacred book of Psalms are not the conventional method that modern day Christians employ in their private prayers, they don't experience how spiritually confronted and violent they are. My experience after 40 years of praying the Psalms when I was much younger I kept my prayer life private.But as I have grown to mature age I have become more public about the violent nature of the authoritative pronouncements.
God created man to overwhelmingly dominate the earth through controlling nature.When man sinned there was such a monumental fall that in vainly trying to imagine what it was like we become pragmatic.We don't like thinking in all of our trials and evil confrontations in this world in the context of life and death pronouncements. We would rather amend a personal trial than desperately seek deliverance by overcoming all opposition. Its hard for us to imagine our primary parents could satisfactorily accomplish anything they naturally desired by appropriately applying the implanted law. To put differently, God had to reveal the severe violence in encountering Satan and his children to stun us into reality that the fall was so destructive, understanding it would injure us unless God took away 80 percent of our mental capabilities.
We invariably suffer from faithlessness because we are fiercely opposed by a violent and naturally attractive scheme taught by cultural slogans. Gods vulnerable  people are put into cruel bondage. We naturally do not pray like we are fiercely resisting in ruthless hand to hand combat pronouncements against the unbelievers and the demons who threaten us. We by force are comfortable trading a certain amount of cruel bondage for short-lived peace.
