Psa 67:1 May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine upon us, Selah

When God gave the law it gave man the powers to rule the earth. It was not just a standard to show man his sin. The purpose of the law was to curse all law breakers. If the law did not pronounce death upon the offender then there would be no reason for Christ as man's substitution. But God did not make a sweeping declaration through the Ten commandments. In other words God did not write each commandment and then at the end put the threat of death in fine print. God wrote each law and after each law He gave the judgement of death for each violation. So the curse was more than the reason for Christ to be a substitute. It was a legal declaration that was pronounced on the violator of that law.

Why did God have the same judgement of death for the smallest violation? Because the law was not just the standard of conduct but it controlled the unity of creation and of nations. So you see that God gave blessing in order to save a people as the unity that the curse destroyed. Blessing is always pronounced in the context of a society.

In other words if a person.violated God's law the harm was not just limited to that individual and God. The law is spoken as a healthy cell in a body. A violation of the law would be the introduction of a foreign cell. So the law inforced unity in the parts of society. God not only gave the curses for the legal right of salvation but to attack the foreign cell. God controlled nations through blessing and cursing.  Psa 67:4 May the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you rule the peoples justly and guide the nations of the earth. Selah AR
